Below is a list of our department’s commissions and brief descriptions of their duties.
Academic Performance Commission
As a unit of our research university, the aim is to set the academic goals of our Faculty of Science and its departments; to evaluate annually academic activities such as publications, conference papers, projects, and patents to improve academic quality; and to examine the position of our faculty and departments among other research universities and implement necessary regulations.

Addiction Prevention Commission
The Addiction Prevention Commission aims to produce effective, sustainable, and science-based solutions against addiction. Its mission is to raise awareness and knowledge about addiction among department students and academic and administrative staff, and to minimize the negative effects caused by addictions.

Information Technology Commission
The aim is to ensure the organization of the faculty’s web and information pages, keep English and Turkish content up to date, and carry out the activities to be conducted in this process.

Bologna Coordination
The aim is to implement activities carried out by the Bologna commission.

Scholarship Commission
The aim is to convey all kinds of announcements regarding scholarships and social service practices and to carry out the activities to be performed in this process.

Course and Exam Scheduling Commission

Doctoral Qualification Committee
This is the committee authorized to make decisions regarding the doctoral qualification exam that students in the Mathematics doctoral program at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences are required to take.

Faculty of Science International Academic Relations Commission
The aim is to guide and evaluate relevant commissions to establish bilateral and multilateral collaborations for student and staff exchange with domestic and international universities, taking into account the needs and capacity of the university and the faculty.

Education Commission
In line with the university’s goals; the aim is to organize, monitor, implement, and evaluate undergraduate education within all departments of the Faculty of Science and to carry out work toward the improvement of education and teaching.

Disability Services (Accessible DEU) Coordination
The aim is to ensure the conduct of activities related to students with disabilities.

The aim is to organize the graduation ceremony for students graduating from our faculty.

The aim is to ensure the execution of activities related to seminars and scientific events.

Quality and Accreditation Commission
In line with the university’s goals; the aim is to determine the quality objectives of the faculty and departments, evaluate academic and administrative services in the unit, and ensure activities carried out for quality improvement and the accreditation process.

Career Planning Commission
The aim is to conduct planned career activities for undergraduate students in cooperation with the Career Planning and Alumni Relations Coordination.

Alumni Relations Commission
The aim is to carry out activities related to communication with alumni.

Social Responsibility Commission
The aim is to plan and organize seminars, workshops, projects, and similar events to develop a sense of social responsibility among academic and administrative staff and students at the faculty.

Sports Commission
The aim is to examine and carry out athletic activities within the faculty and departments in terms of regulations and annual practical implementation.

Internship Commission
The aim is to organize, implement, and supervise students’ internship work at the department level.

Strategic Plan Commission
As a unit of our research university, the aim is to set the academic goals of the Faculty of Science departments; to annually evaluate academic activities such as publications, conference papers, projects, and patents to improve academic quality; to carry out necessary research and arrangements to ensure that undergraduate and graduate education and training activities are conducted in accordance with international standards; to determine our faculty’s and departments’ societal contribution strategies and manage societal contribution activities; to determine the research strategy and goals of our departments; to relate conducted research to local/regional/national development goals; and to determine necessary strategic steps to ensure continuity of research resources.

Promotion Activities Commission
The commission is responsible for introducing the department’s academic and social facilities to visiting students and informing them.

Distance Education Coordination
The aim is to implement activities related to distance education.

Minor and Double Major Coordination
The aim is to implement activities carried out during the minor and double-major (ÇAP) process.

Horizontal Transfer and Adaptation Commission
The commission evaluates horizontal transfer applications between equivalent undergraduate programs of higher education institutions whose equivalence is recognized by the university and the Council of Higher Education, and course exemption applications within the scope of the related horizontal transfer directive and the exemption and adaptation directive. It also determines which term or semester students who will continue their education through amnesty or similar reasons will start, and evaluates whether candidates have the right to exemption in exemption-related applications.
