WORKSHOP ON RINGS, MODULES AND ALGEBRAS
History of the Workshop:
The idea of organizing a workshop specifically addressing the needs of young researchers working in the fields of Rings, Modules and Algebras was first conceived in 2006 by some Turkish doctoral students visiting the Ohio University Center of Ring Theory and Its Applications. What was initially only an idea was to eventually become a reality when the first meeting of a series of workshops entitled RMA was held at Karabuk University in 2012. Since then, the subsequent sessions have been organized by different host universities quite successfully: IYTE (2013 and 2014), Hacettepe (2015 and 2016), DEU (2017 and 2018). The topics covered thus far in those meetings seem to have followed a pattern suggestive of some sort of a supplementary curriculum aiding the student participants’ studies: rings of quotients, serial rings, finite dimensional algebras, Leavitt Path Algebras, just to name a few. In fact, in the process of determining the topics to be addressed, organizers have always heeded young researchers’ suggestions. Encouraged by the steady turnout received each year, which has occasionally included international participation, we would like to increase the number of the sessions annually held, should circumstances (and of course our schedules) allow.
