Double Major Information for Department of Mathematics Students
Applications for the double major program are made to the relevant Faculty Deanery on the date determined by the Faculty Deanery, with the application form, transcript and a document showing that the student received a score higher than the base score of the relevant year or the success order. The double major program and its quota are announced at the beginning of each academic year.
Department of Mathematics students can apply to the double major program of Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Statistics, Chemistry and Computer Engineering departments.
Mathematics Department students with 2023 YKS admission can also apply to the double major program of Business Administration (Eng-Tur), Economics (Eng-Tur) and Econometrics departments.
General application conditions for double major students:
- The student must be at the beginning of the third semester of the major undergraduate program at the earliest and at the beginning of the fifth semester at the latest.
- The student must have successfully completed all courses taken in the major program by the semester he/she applies.
- The student’s GPA at the time of application must be at least 2.00 out of 4 or at least 70 out of 100. Students who meet the grade point average requirement must be in the top 20% of the relevant class of the major program or have a score not less than the base score of the relevant year of the double major program.
- Departments may impose extra conditions of their own choosing.
