Double Major Information for Mathematics Department Students

Applications for the double major program are made to the Faculty Dean’s Office on the specified date by submitting the application form, transcript, and a document showing that the student has obtained a score higher than the base score of the relevant year or their rank. At the beginning of each academic year, the double major program is announced with the specified quota.

Note: A student who leaves the double major program, having completed all the requirements of a minor program, is eligible to receive a minor certificate.

Application Conditions for Students Pursuing a Double Major in the Mathematics Department:

  • Students from the Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Statistics, and Chemistry departments can apply to the double major program.
  • The student must be at least in their third semester and no later than in their fifth semester of the major program.
  • The student must have successfully completed all the courses taken in the major program up until the application period.
  • The student’s GPA at the time of application must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00 or at least 70 out of 100. Students who meet this GPA condition must be within the top 20% of their major program’s class rank, or must have a score at least equal to the base score of the program they are applying to double major with for the relevant year.
  • The applicant must meet the foreign language exemption condition of the Mathematics Department.
