Two Theorems on the Fibonacci Numbers (Part 2)
Tarih: 24.11.2021 (Çarşamba) 12:00
Yer: SAKAI/Ogr DEU Math
Konuşmacı:Prof. Dr. Halil Oruç
Özet: We present two theorems about the Fibonacci numbers. Zeckhendorf’s theorem represents every integer uniquely as a sum of Fibonacci numbers. Lame’s theorem uses the Fibonacci numbers to determine complexity of the Euclidean algorithm.
How did Euler discover the Gamma function?
Tarih: 17.11.2021 (Çarşamba) 12:00
Yer: SAKAI/Ogr DEU Math
Konuşmacı:Doç. Dr. Burcu Silindir Yantır
Özet:In 1729, Goldbach sent a letter to Bernoulli asking whether it is possible to extend the factorial function to nonnegative real arguements. The answer for this question was studied by Bernoulli and Euler. In this talk, we will present the journey to Gamma function and discuss its properties.
